Dr Melinda Nguyen

Dr Nguyen graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine from the University of New South Wales. She completed her advanced gastroenterology training at Westmead Hospital and a final fellowship year at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Transplant Hepatology. She subsequently undertook further subspecialty training in Transplant Hepatology at Toronto General Hospital, one of the world's leading centres for liver transplantation.

Dr Nguyen has appointments at Sydney Adventist and Nepean Hospital. Dr Nguyen is a certified provider in gastroscopy and colonoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA). She consults at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Gastrointestinal Health Sydney at Macquarie Park and at Westmead Specialist Centre. She performs diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Nepean Hospital, Pennant Hills Day Surgery and City West Specialist Day Hospital.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, including gastrointestinal and luminal disease, chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, autoimmune and cholestatic liver diseases and diseases, and liver cancer. 

She is committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care and believes that patients should feel informed and involved in decisions about their health. She takes the time to understand each patient's individual circumstances and works collaboratively with patients, their families and other healthcare professionals to develop an appropriate treatment plan.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Nguyen has an active interest in medical research and education, particularly in the areas of liver disease to improve clinical decision-making and patient care.
