Do I need a referral to see a Gastroenterologist?

A GP referral is required which lasts for 12 months or a specialist referral which lasts for 3 months.

Are you a buk bill practice?

We are not a bulk billing practice. Pensioners are offered a discount rate who have a blue pension card.

Do you send appointment reminders?

Reminders are emailed at the time of making the appointment and an SMS sent the day prior.

Do you offer known gap or no gap cover?

We offer known gap to patients whose private health fund offer this and no gap to pensioners who hold a blue pension card.

Do you offer a Pensioner Discount?

Yes we offer a pensioner discount for patients who hold a blue pension card.

What do I need to bring to the appointment?

Bring your up to date referral and any necessary results which your GP thinks are necessary.

How long does my referral last?

A GP referral lasts 12 months whereas a specialist referral lasts 3 months.

How long do I have to wait for my procedure?

You will be booked on the doctor's next available list which is usually within 1-2 weeks.

Can I book directly for my procedure without an initial appointment?

We offer 'Rapid Access' to patients who fulfil the criteria.

Your referring doctor will need to complete the form below on your behalf.

Can I drive home after my procedure?

For 24 hours after your procedure, you cannot drive. Someone will need to collect you from hospital to take you home and stay with you for the evening. If you take a taxi, someone will need to be with you in the car.
